Controlled vocabularies define the values that can be used for a given class or attribute (selected from a list of values in the input form when creating a record).
CCMM works with several such vocabularies.
Some vocabularies are adopted from other authorities (COAR, IANA, and others) and cannot be modified (it is only possible to contact the respective authority to propose a change or a new value).
External controlled vocabularies used by the CCMM model:
- Resource types (to determine the digital object type): https://vocabularies.coar-repositories.org/resource_types/ (COAR)
- Languages (to determine dataset language): http://publications.europa.eu/resource/authority/language (European Union)
- File formats (to determine the dataset format): http://publications.europa.eu/resource/dataset/file-type (European Union)
- Media types (to determine the dataset media type, formerly known as MIME type): https://www.iana.org/assignments/media-types/media-types.xhtml (IANA)
- Access rights (to determine the access type to the dataset): http://purl.org/coar/access_right/ (COAR)
Other vocabularies have been taken over, maintained, and updated by NTK. Wherever possible, these vocabularies were also adopted from other authorities, but certain modifications had to be made (in particular, assigning IRIs to individual items in the vocabulary, as required by the CCMM model).
Vocabularies maintained by NTK:
- Agent Role (to determine the agent role) – main source DataCite
- Alternate Title (to determine the other dataset title type) – main source DataCite
- Description Type (to determine the type of dataset description) – main source DataCite
- Location Relation (to determine the relation between the dataset and geographical location)
- Relation Type (to determine the relation between the dataset and related object) – main source DataCite
- Subject Category (to determine the subject category, to which the dataset belongs) – main source OECD FORD Frascati
- Time Reference (to determine the type of the date or time reference) – main source DataCite
These vocabularies are currently available on GitHub in CSV format for download.
In the future, this website will implement a tool for managing and presenting vocabularies, which will enable user-friendly browsing and export in RDF/XML or Turtle format.
